Frequently Asked Questions

What Makes Zerorez® Different?

What sets Zerorez® apart from other carpet cleaners?

No other carpet cleaner can do what Zerorez® does. We are different from the industry in three ways: Our process, our People, and our Promise.

Our Process

Our patented process includes three proprietary components: Our Zr lifter®, our Zr Clean™️, and our patent pending Zr wand™. Combined these create a Zero Residue® clean that means, no crunchy carpet, no sticky fibers, no harsh detergents or toxic chemicals, no reappearing spots, no residue-laden carpets, eliminated pet odors, safer living space, and fast dry times.

Zr lifter® - It all starts with a "green," non-toxic pre-spray, followed by an agitation tool-the Zr lifter®-which uses counter-rotating brushes to dislodge hair, dead skin, allergens and deeply embedded dirt from the carpet fibers that conventional vacuuming does not remove.

Zr Clean™️ - Zr Clean™️ is an electrolyzed cleaning fluid created by a process that begins with softened water (minerals removed) that is combined with an electrolyte and then passed through a proprietary membrane, which separates the water molecules into a high pH cleaning fluid. Zr Clean™️ acts like a detergent without side effects of toxic chemical additives, by breaking down oils and soiling in the carpet fiber. Your carpets are safer because Zr Clean™️ does not add toxic chemicals to your carpets.

Zr wand™ - Our patent-pending Zr wand™ thoroughly rinses the carpet fibers with our Zr Clean™️ through a fluid-controlled process, effectively removing hard-to-reach dirt and debris without flooding the carpet's backing & pad. We're able to recover virtually all the water from your carpets. The result is a more complete clean with significantly improved dry times.

Our People -Zerorez® is a people company who happens to clean carpets. Our mission is to become the most trusted provider in our industry. Trust means that our people are highly trained and highly competent in the services they provide; and that they exhibit integrity in all their interactions. We are committed to always doing the right thing in every circumstance, especially when no one is looking. In essence, we strive to live the golden rule. This ethic applies to everyone with whom we associate.

Our Promise - To make sure your experience at Zerorez® is exceptional we promise that you will receive:

  • Truly clean carpets and surfaces
  • Performed with the best technology
  • By trained, courteous technicians
  • To your satisfaction, and

If you are not happy we will make it right! (See our guarantee)

What can you do about residue left behind from other cleaning companies?

Soap left behind by other cleaners, or from over the counter spot cleaners pose a different problem than soils and contaminants in the carpet. Water will typically reactivate the soaps left behind creating a foam that is hard to remove. The good news is that Zerorez® never introduces new soaps and detergents when they clean. This means over time (as long as no more soap is added by someone else) Zerorez® will remove the soap left behind by others. If you clean once a year, it may take a couple of years to accomplish this, but you will notice each time that your carpet stays cleaner longer. Please help by not adding more soap to your carpet, together we can change the world!!!

The Technical Stuff

Should I move my furniture?

We strive to keep our pricing affordable for everyone. Our equipment is very advanced which makes it the best in the business for cleaning. This great equipment allows us to run one man crews, which makes it difficult to move furniture safely, without causing damage to your furniture… or ourselves. If you prefer to leave your larger furniture in the room, that's fine. Our process can clean up to and around the furniture left in the room.

How soon can I walk on my floor after cleaning?

Our hot water extraction cleaning process does leave some moisture in the carpet. Typical dry time is between 4 and 6 hours, depending on the airflow in the home, condition, and style of carpet being cleaned. It is completely safe to walk on the carpet as long as you're comfortable with the cleanliness of your feet.

How are pet spots and odors treated?

Zerorez® understands accidents happen, causing odor and discoloration in your floors. If not properly treated, biological matter such as urine can create a breeding ground for bacteria and an unhealthy environment. Most of our pet treatments require additional cost and the technician will discuss those costs before beginning treatment.

Any pet treatment recommended by a technician is optional but will certainly give you the best outcome. If you decline a pet treatment, it does void our thirty day satisfaction guarantee for that area of your home.

We offer several treatment methods to clean areas contaminated by biological matter, please ask your representative for more information.

Preparing for your Zerorez® service?

Here are a few things that can help you prepare for your upcoming Zerorez® appointment.

PREPARING YOUR HOME - It is important to give your carpet a thorough vacuuming prior to your appointment. Remove items such as lamps or picture frames from tabletops; and clear the floor of toys, books and other small articles. Our cleaning process causes flooring services to become slippery; exercise caution during and after your cleaning. Please have any furniture you want out of the room moved prior to our arrival.

PHONE ESTIMATES - Since we price by the room instead of by the square foot, this eliminates a lot of the variance in traditional cleaning quotes. There are a couple things to keep in mind that can affect the price; rooms that exceed 250sqft, will be counted as two or more areas depending on the total size. All dimensions will be verified by your technician and any increase to the price will be communicated to you for your approval before work will be completed. Due to the nature of blood, urine, feces, and vomit, treatments for biological issues cannot be estimated over the phone. Pricing is based on the amount of product used to treat the issue at the rate of $75/gallon. Depending on the level of saturation, treatment could require a partial gallon or many gallons. Again, your approval for these treatments will be required before any additional costs would be added. Each service appointment is assessed a $15 Water and Disposal Fee.

CANCELLATION POLICY - Our schedule fills up fast, once a schedule is set we ask that you give us at least 2 business days notice if you need to cancel. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you, and give the utmost attention to our clients. We ask that you be considerate of our schedule as well and please let us know if the time doesn't work out for you. Thank you, and see you soon!

PET TREATMENTS - Treatments and pricing for pet accidents are not included in our standard cleaning. Urine, feces, blood or vomit may require additional cleaning procedures to address odor, bacteria, and to remove stains that are otherwise irremovable. Pricing for these issues will be addressed on-site. If a recommended treatment for pet accidents is declined, we cannot warranty cleaning results in contaminated areas.

AREA RUGS - Area rugs require special treatment in order to be cleaned properly. We have a specialized facility to handle all area rugs with care. Rugs can be picked up, or our technician can take your rug with him when your appointment is finished. Please call our office, or ask our technician about cleaning and pricing for your area rugs. You can be assured that your rugs will be well taken care of and also be returned with Zero Residue® left behind.

I live in an apartment, can you still clean my home?

We want to ensure that every customer receives the full cleaning power of Zerorez®. There is only one instance where we would be unable to clean a home or apartment. The issue would be distance to the home from parking. We do require that our vans be no further than 100 ft from the front door of the home where they are parked for the cleaning. If your home is further than that the technician may be unable to clean.

The Nitty Gritty

What do you consider a room?

We consider any area of carpet with or without furniture to be one room, like a small bedroom, living room or den. If you have any large areas that exceed 250 square feet they will be counted as two or more rooms. When describing your rooms to one of our representatives try to be as detailed as possible, that way they can let you know if the room is oversized. If you're not really sure about the size, just wait for your technician to arrive and they will help you to determine the size of the room.

What kind of guarantee do you offer?

Zerorez® offers a 30-day Gotta Love It Guarantee™. If, within 30 days of your appointment, you're unsatisfied with your Zerorez Experience for any reason at all- before you do anything else give us a call! We will gladly return and address the areas of concern.

Can a couch or stairs be cleaned as part of the 3 room special?

The Zerorez® three room special is for carpet. That includes pre-treating all fibers, scrubbing, and cleaning; which we like to refer to as zerorezify. If you do not have three rooms of carpet, that's okay, we can still come out to your home. If you only have one or two rooms of carpet, please ask your customer service rep or our a la carte pricing. One sofa, is not the same price as one room of carpet, so we don't want there to be any surprises. Feel free to ask our representative if you are not sure about what you can add. No matter what services you have done with Zerorez®, you will be amazed.

Why am I being charged a water and disposal fee?

Zerorez® has a standard fee for all scheduled appointments. The making of our Zr Clean™️ used to clean, and our equipment, requires additional costs that are not quite standard for the industry. This allows us to offer great specials throughout the year to help meet your cleaning needs.

How does payment work?

Payment is due at the time of service.

We accept cash, check, and all major credit cards.

If you have any other questions about payment please feel free to contact us!

What is your cancellation policy?

Our schedule fills up fast, once a schedule is set we ask that you give us at least 2 business days notice if you need to cancel. We appreciate the opportunity to serve you, and give the utmost attention to our clients. We ask that you be considerate of our schedule as well and please let us know if the time doesn't work out for you.

Can I get an onsite estimate?

While we do not schedule estimate-only appointments, we pride ourselves on being very upfront about all pricing and are able to give very accurate estimates over the phone.
