Step 1- Walk-off Mats

Walk off mats help to keep dirt from tracking into the home or office. it is recommended to have 10-15 steps worth of mat to help remove as much soil as possible. Removing shoes at the entrance can also aid in keeping carpets maintained.

Step 2- Vacuuming

Vacuuming is the number one thing that can be done to keep your carpets looking their best. Most manufacturers recommend vacuuming heavy traffic areas on a daily basis, and exposed areas 2-3 times a week. This keeps dirt from getting ground into the carpet, where it becomes difficult to remove, and can cause permanent damage.

Step 3- Spotting

Spotting is the industry way of saying spot removal. Frequent spotting (the right way) can help keep those carpets fresh for years to come.

Step 4- Professional Cleaning

Manufacturers recommend professional hot water extraction (also known as steam cleaning) every 12-18 months. This should be done by a trained technician and by a reputable cleaning company.

Step 5- Re-protecting

Most carpet is manufactured with a fiber protector. This coating is designed to repel soils and some may repel stains. Unfortunately, as the carpet is used, this protective coating does wear off. It is recommended to re-protect carpets every 12-18 months or every other clean, whichever comes first, to help maintain your carpets' like new appearance!
